In the imminent future

The cover image is a picture I saw on Reddit a few days ago, which touched me deeply.

This year's college entrance examination has officially ended, and after filling out the volunteer form at the end of the month, we can wait for the admission notice. Coincidentally, my younger sister took the college entrance examination this year, and I sincerely feel happy for her. On the one hand, congratulations to her for successfully passing this challenging stage of high school, and more importantly, I wish her a colorful university life and hope that university life can broaden her horizons and expand her knowledge. I remember when I graduated from the college entrance examination, I made a wish to myself: after making friends in college, I would visit the homes of classmates from other provinces during every vacation to see a broader world. Due to well-known reasons, my vacations basically consisted of staying at home every day, even crossing cities required permission, let alone crossing provinces, which is a regret.

I am a relatively lazy person. If I can avoid moving, I won't move, which has led to some unhealthy weight gain. Perhaps because of my laziness, traveling did not have a strong appeal to me when I was a child (even in junior high and high school). I always felt that scenery is the same everywhere: mountains, water, forests, what's the point of going? So now I always have a feeling that taking children on a trip is basically a waste of time, energy, and money. It's better to spend quality time with children, do sports with them, and so on. Traveling means much more to me now than it did when I was a child. Each place has its own local customs and practices, apart from the tourist attractions, people are definitely the most typical scenery of every city. The main purpose of my current travels should be to experience the culture (and local cuisine). Of course, this is only my current feeling, the purpose of traveling will change with age, and I can't say what it will become in the future. Perhaps there are children with extraordinary talents who can feel the charm of culture from a young age. Congratulations to you for having such a treasure, hurry up and take your child on a trip!

The journey of Links taught me that "the wonders of the world are extraordinary and strange, often found in remote and dangerous places where few people go." Each of his videos is a masterpiece, to the extent that I often feel the urge to go hiking after watching them. On the other hand, Xiao Zhong's videos truly made me appreciate the charm of language and culture, and even gave me an idea: after learning a language, reward myself by traveling to a country where I can communicate with the locals in that language. Because communication with the locals is essential for a perfect cultural experience. If there are communication barriers, the rewards of traveling will be greatly reduced. This is a goal I set for myself, and if I can achieve it, I may look back on my life with satisfaction in my old age...

Nowadays, my university life is almost coming to an end, and I can say that I am not satisfied with these years. Although I have the right to, I don't want to attribute everything to external factors. I hope that in the remaining time, I can think and do what I want.

For all friends who are about to enter college, I have one piece of advice for you: listen more, observe more, speak less, and do less. I hope my advice can help you.
